I love me some tacos. Soft shell, hard shell, from a truck, costs a buck. I’ll try any taco anytime (no euphemisms today, my friends). My favorite is machaca aka shredded beef in a crunchy shell and El Coyote is my long-standing favorite for that. I also have a strong affinity for a good potato taco. My best friend makes the best potato tacos in the world, but I have yet to find a really good potato taco in LA. Any tips?*
BFF potato tacos with my homemade guacamole
Would you try a taco with an adventurous filling? I’ve tried ostrich but I won’t eat any lengua though. That is too kinky VOM for me. I don’t want to eat anything used for frenchin’. I judge mexican restaurants on their salsa and their tacos. It’s serious business. During the tipsy after hours, I’ll take a Jack in the Box taco (2 for 99 cents) a Del Taco taco (lovin’ that pico de gallo bo) or even a Taco Bell Taco IF I HAVE TO. (Seen above). I’m at about 65 for the taco tally. Who wants to buy me my 69th taco this year? After that I ain’t gonna tally no more.

[…] you might guess, a whole lotta T&A…but with the additional sexiness of TACOS! Obviously I love that concept. Mexican food is so gratuitous! He’s taken the term ‘food porn’ to a whole […]

Being poor, I’ve had to get adventurous with food from time to time. I’ve had tacos with teriyaki chicken and steamed veggies (what, I had no rice!), meatballs and parm (actually really good), and stuff like pasta salad, bean salad, etc. I’ve discovered that the tortilla, while having a flavor of it’s own, will mostly jive with whatever you put it in. They even use tortillas in desserts sometimes.

try taco nazo for potato tacos or make em yourself
peel and boil potatoes drain them mash them up. in the blender put about half a can of tomato sauce or a large fresh tomato add some onion garlic a dash or oregano a little bit of dried cumin, and some Knorr Chicken bouillon powder seasoning (a staple in every mexican household lol) some black pepper.. blend it then add it to the potatoes mix well.. i like to add cheese to the mixture but you dont have to. i either add queso fresco, cotija, or monterrey. i then add the mixture to a tortilla and fry it well and i serve them with lettuce or cabbage which everone im in the mood for and salsa and a guacamole salsa( avocados, one half of a green tomatillo, cumin, onion, garlic, jalapeno a fressh one , and cilantro, some sour cream and salt and pepper blended well) and they looooove them .. hubby never realized they didnt have meat because they were so flavorful! lol.. i had to tell em did you notice no meat?..ha sucka!

More & more I realize you are a girl after my own heart. I was alive with taco fever two nights ago, and had to settle for taco bell. There are no good tacos in Bloomington.
Also, yes yes for the taco costume!

There arent a lot of places in Miami to get a good taco. Mexican food down here is kind of.. generic. SAD.
But I made homemade tacos for the first time the other day and they came out soooo good!

Los Tacos on Santa Monica Blvd, right around Fairfax is open 24 hours and makes a killer beef/machaca taco. And it’s cheap. And it’s delicious.
It may not be the tranny hookers of Benitos on Santa Monica and Vine, but it’s got scary homeless people!
